Membership in the Writing Academy?









When you join the Writing Academy, you join a community of writers who encourage, support, and pray for each other. You join people commited to growing in faith and in the craft of writing. You join writers who work individually and collectively to produce publications and media of excellence.

Benefits of Membership

As a member. . .

  • you receive our newsletter and email announcements
  • you may submit articles to our publications or post comments on our blog
  • you may participate in Writer's eXchange, a network of email critique-and-encouragement groups
  • you are eligible to run for office and to vote in our business meeting
  • you are eligible to enter our contests

As a 1st Time member. . .

  • you receive all benefits listed above AND. . .
  • you get $50 off your tuition fee if you also attend the seminar
  • you may submit a sample of your work for a free critique of your writing (500 words or fewer)

You now have two ways to become a member of the Writing Academy.

Join By Mail

Fill out a simple application form and mail it along with the application fee, to our New Member Coordinator.

Join On Line

To join electronically, send us your contact information here and pay your $50 membership fee on our Dues and Donations page.

You may pay your membership dues by credit card or with your Paypal account.

An Optional Critique

As a NEW MEMBER, you also have the option of submitting a sample of your writing with your application. You will receive a free critique of this material and recommendations about which one of our writing courses you might wish to take, although you are under no obligation. To send the sample writing, fill out the bottom of the application form and attach your sample. If you are joining by email, you may paste your sample into the space provided on our contact sheet. Prose only, please--no poetry.

The Membership Year

The Membership Year starts on September 1st. If you pay your membership dues on or after June 1st of a given year, your term as a member runs until September 1st of the following year. So if you join in April of 2009, your New Member status will apply until September 1st of 2010.
